When I had my first child I realized that motherhood is a political act. Every choice I made about how to raise my child was influenced by the systems around us. I decided to raise my child to be aware to question injustice to see themselves as an agent of change. I talk to my children about racism about classism about why we have homelessness. I take them to marches and demonstrations. I teach them that we are responsible for each other. I teach them that resistance is possible.
